History and Background to our registered charity

1976 |
the Halifax Down's Babies Association is formed by a group of parents, some of which are still active with us today. They had meetings at each others houses. |

Several years later |
as the Down's Syndrome Association is renamed, so is our group to Calderdale Down's Syndrome Association. |
| Early 1998 | we officially becomes a branch of the Down's Syndrome Association and are know as the Down's Syndrome Association - Calderdale Branch. |
| November 2001 | having been suggest by the Down's Syndrome Association, the Calderdale Group begins proceeds to become an independent charity. |
| August 2002 | the group is renamed to Calderdale Down's Syndrome Group with our own charity number: 1093266 |
